Not that expensive giving the navigation is a bit better than google maps in my opinion. So, 130$ each four or five years is like 25$ a year. Some times it get lost, other times it does not provide the best routing because of small changes on the streets, but it is sitll pretty funcitonal. On the other hand, I've been using the original map set for more than four years now, and overall it is still quite good. To ensure we provide you with the correct map update, we need to confirm if your Murano is a 2017 or 2017.5 Model Year. It sucks paying 130 bucks for some maps when you have the very same thing in your cellphone for free and cannot cast it to the vehicle's screen. If it somehow detects a non-authorized installtion, it might lock the gps completely and the repair could cost way more than in a dealer. I am not sure if this will work on older Nissans but updates to the navigation maps can be done for free on 2018s by using a USB drive to down load from Nissan and update to the vehicle or if like me connecting the vehicle to wifi and downloading the updates directly to the vehicle. I've seen some guides and instructions on how to do it on some shady sites, but I'm not willing to risk it. I had to register the system when I bought my Rogue back in 2017.įor some time now I'm looking for the same thing, updating the maps for free, but I don't belive it's possible. Don't think it's possible, the navigation system is somehow connected to Nissan systems (by satelite link, maybe?).
